About The Program
The “Healthy Brain Toolkit” program is to provide caregivers and participants with the tools to sustain and improve their mental health and emotional well-being. It has three key components: Healthy Homes, Food Safety, Nutrition, and Mindful Cooking. Each of these components is delivered through customized lessons. And each class is prepared after having had discussions with the staff, interviews with the participants, assessments on the participant’s mental and physical health profiles, dietary needs, and comprehension and retention levels. And, finally, recipes are designed around the individuals’ nutritional needs and health profile (medical diagnosis, lab test results, nurse’s notes, and nutritionist’s recommendation. Depending on the individual’s comfort level with cooking, s/he can assist with preparing the meal and learn about nutrition.
